Because a young child’s permanent teeth have not finished erupting, we are able to thoroughly evaluate and address any impending problems at the early stage. Each case is different and many times the best course of action is to see a child back on a recall for following growth and development. However, there is a time when certain situations may require immediate attention.
If indicated, starting treatment early can prevent a worsening problem. This will save you and your child time and money and result in the best possible outcome.

At your first visit, our goal is to make everything easy, comfortable, and clear — for both you and your child. Here’s how it works:
When you arrive, you’ll sign in at our front desk or on the computer kiosk. One of our friendly team members will greet you and walk your child back to get started.
For the first part of the appointment, kids head back on their own — they do great with our team!
We’ll take a few quick records, which usually take about 20 minutes:
A panoramic X-ray (“pan”) – a quick spinning photo that shows all the teeth and jaws.
A side-view X-ray (“ceph”) – shows how the teeth and jaw fit together.
A few photos inside and outside the mouth.
A 3D digital scan of the teeth (no messy impressions!).
The doctor reviews all the records and takes a quick look in your child’s mouth. Once that’s done, we invite you back so the doctor can explain everything in simple, easy-to-understand terms.
Together, we’ll look at your child’s images and discuss what’s happening with their smile. From there, we’ll either:
Keep an eye on growth and development, or
Recommend treatment such as braces or aligners, along with the expected timeline and next steps.
We’ll answer every question you have — from what the plan means to what it costs and how payment options work. Our goal is to make sure you leave feeling confident and informed.
If we’re monitoring growth, we’ll set up a follow-up visit.
If treatment is recommended, we’ll schedule your start date and handle any quick paperwork.
You’ll leave with a clear picture of what’s next and a smile knowing your child is in great hands.
